Tala Ahmadi is a digital financial services specialist passionate about designing innovative solutions to reach and empower Africa’s unbanked population. She is particularly interested in leveraging digital technology to improve smallholder farmers’ productivity and financial gains.

Tala was previously based in Accra and worked from our Ghana office for over five years. She began her career with SIA working with a Ghanaian mobile network operator to improve the quality of their mobile money agents. Since, she has worked on projects to design digital credit offerings for female smallholder farmers in Uganda, trained Ethiopian organizations on digitizing their payment streams, and assessed the effectiveness of Ghanaian agricultural technology and micro-finance companies in reaching smallholder farmers.

Tala holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development and African and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is also certified in Permaculture Design and will soon be a certified Yoga instructor as well. She is based in Colorado as she is working towards receiving her MA in Sustainable Food Systems at the University of Colorado - Boulder.
